It’s all in the details.
My name is Aglaia de Bont, founder of i4Image and an image consultant based in the Netherlands.
The way people present themselves has always fascinated me. Not just their appearance, but the way they move, speak, interact and behave. All those little signals that come together to create an impression.
I notice them everywhere. In a restaurant, at a business meeting, walking into a shop or even watching television. Sometimes it’s a tiny detail that catches my attention. Other times, it’s the contrast between someone’s appearance and the personality that emerges once you get to know them.
And quite often, I find myself thinking:
What a missed opportunity.
Not because everyone needs to look perfect or follow a particular standard. Far from it. I love individuality, interesting combinations and people who dare to express themselves. But I also appreciate when things come together. When someone’s appearance, personality and behavior tell a story that makes sense.
Of course, context changes everything. What feels right in one situation may be completely out of place in another. That’s part of what makes this work so interesting to me.
With over 30 years of experience in business, I’ve seen how much the way we present ourselves can influence our interactions and opportunities. But my interest in image goes well beyond the professional world.
Through i4Image, I bring together my experience, my eye for detail and my appreciation for individuality. I enjoy discovering what works, what could work better and how even small changes can make a meaningful difference.
